Detective Pikachu gets new trailer

And it looks amazing

It’s finally happened.

The first-ever live-action Pokémon adventure, Detective Pikachu stars Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu. He teams up with Tim Goodman, tracking down Tim’s father in the neon-flooded Ryme City. Only Tim can understand Pikachu, and they delve deep into the underbelly to find the truth.

Yes, this sounds ridiculous. It’s a detective noir Pokemon movie. But… Just watch the trailer.

It looks amazing! Even with the creepy as Mr. Mime, how can anyone not think this is going to be phenomenal?!

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is directed by Rob Letterman, and stars Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu, Justice Smith as Tim, Kathryn Newton as Lucy, a junior reporter following her first big story, and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as Lt. Yoshida.

Detective Pikachu releases in New Zealand on May 9, 2019. We’ve been waiting for this for 20 years; we’ll try to make it another 6 months.
