PUBG to hit Xbox One in December
Finally the news we have been waiting for! Announced at Paris Games Week and on Xbox Wire it was announced that PlayUnknown’s Battlegrounds is going to be released on Xbox One through the Xbox Game Preview Program on 12 December.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will go through a similar process on Xbox One as it has on PC, that is using the Xbox Game Preview program as a means for players to get early access to the game while the dev team continue to iron out bugs and get the game ready for full launch. Despite still being in Early Access on Steam and having numerous issues along the way PUBG remains one of the most played games on Steam so even as the bugs are being ironed out, expect to find plenty of people online and playing when PUBG hits the Xbox One.
Both the Xbox One and PC versions of PUBG have their own roadmaps so if you are following the game on PC don’t expect everything that comes to PC to make an immediate appearance (or appear at all) on console.
Commenting on the dual-platform development, Chang Han Kim, CEO of PUGB Corp said “This has been an amazing year for us and launching both 1.0 on PC and on Xbox through Xbox Game Preview are huge milestones for the team. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time, but I’m even more excited to say that we’re just getting started.”
When PUBG hits the Xbox One playeys will have three limited-edition cosmetic packs – Warrior Pack, the PUBG Accessory Pack and the PUBG Tracksuit Pack.
So peeps the countdown is on, come 12 December Xbox One owners can experience the thrill of Battle Royale multiplayer survival action. At this stage there is no announcement on what PUBG will cost to purchase through the Xbox Game Preview program but we can’t see it being too much different from the Early Access price on Steam which is $39.99NZD.
