Sky Secures End of Season All Blacks Tour Coverage
Sky has announced that it has secured exclusive broadcast rights for the All Blacks, Black Ferns and Māori All Blacks end of year tours this November.
The All Blacks four test 2018 Northern Tour kicks off with a match against Japan in Tokyo on November 3rd. This match will follow the third Bledisloe Cup match in Yokohama the previous weekend (also on SKY Sport). No doubt the All Blacks will be keen to use this opportunity to familiarize themselves to conditions that they will likely face in 2019.
Fast forward one week and New Zealanders across the country will be rising early on November 10th hoping for an English breakfast as the long awaited match between the English and the All Blacks will finally take place. Unbelievably the two rugby rivals have not played each other since 2014 when the All Blacks beat the English 24-21 at the same venue. While Eddie Jones’ side haven’t enjoyed a great recent run of form, there is no question that they gain an arm and a leg whenever they play the All Blacks, and at fortress Twickenham, this should be no different!
The following week doesn’t get any easier as the All Blacks head to Aviva Stadium in Dublin to face the current Six Nations champions, Ireland. As the two top rated rugby nations this is shaping to be the match of the Northern Tour and a true test of the All Blacks form guide leading into 2019. With the last two tests between the two nations at 1-1, this will be a truly massive match for the men in black.
The final All Blacks match of the year will be played against the Italians in Rome on November 24th; will we see the debut of a future All Blacks star?
The Black Ferns will get their three test tour underway at Soldier Field in Chicago against the United States on Saturday November 3rd as part of a double header between the Māori All Blacks and the USA Eagles. The Black Ferns will then head to Toulon, France to face the reigning women’s Six Nations champions on November 9th in the first of two matches. The following weekend the match will be played in Grenoble at Stade des Aples, SKY Sport will have LIVE coverage of both matches.
SKY Sport will also have LIVE coverage of the Māori All Blacks November end of year tour where they’ll play the USA Eagles, Brazil and Chile.
