The NRL is Back on Sky Sport from Tonight

Rugby League fans, the wait is over! The NRL Telstra Premiership kicks off tonight with the Melbourne Storm hosting the Brisbane Broncos at AAMI Park in Melbourne. LIVE coverage begins from 9.00pm on SKY Sport 2.

2019 also delivers some significant milestones for the New Zealand Warriors bringing up their 25th season in the NRL since their inception in 1995. On the player front, should he stay injury free, Adam Blair will join the 300 game club, he currently sits on 289 NRL Premiership matches. Not to be outdone by his players, coach Stephen Kearney will also reach 100 games as an NRL coach when the New Zealand Warriors face the Dragons in round 9 on May 11.

KEY DATES:

·14 March – 2019 NRL Telstra Premiership season kicks off with the Melbourne Storm hosting the Brisbane Broncos LIVE from AAMI Park.

· 16 March – the New Zealand Warriors kick off their 25th season in the NRL when they face the Canterbury Bulldogs at Mount Smart Stadium.

· 19 April – The Grand Final rematch between Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters will be played on Good Friday on the Easter Weekend (Round Six).

· 9-12 May – Round 9 will see every NRL team play at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

·September 13 – The NRL Telstra Premiership Finals Series begins.

·October 6 – The NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.

SKY SPORT COVERAGE

SKY Sport will produce LIVE coverage of all New Zealand Warriors home matches in the NRL Telstra Premiership, Canterbury Cup NSW and in the Holden Women’s Premiership.

SKY Sport commentators for Canterbury Cup NSW include, Dale Husband and Richard Barnett while the NRL Telstra Premiership will feature commentary from Glen Larmer and Daryl Halligan.

WHAT’S NEW THIS SEASON?

Lavina Good will re-join the SKY Sport panel and former Kiwis and New Zealand Warriors player, Lewis Brown will join the season’s coverage.

KIWI LEAGUE SHOW

The Kiwi League Show returns to SKY Sport in 2019, hosted by Courtney Tairi and Monty Betham, the show will feature prominent New Zealand rugby league players at home and abroad discussing their careers and the hot topics of the week. The show will have a home on SKY Sport 2 every Thursday evening from 8.30pm – the first show will screen tonight at 8.30pm (Thursday 14th March).

New Zealand rugby league fans will be able to watch LIVE NRL Telstra Premiership matches via SKY Sport, SKY GO and FAN PASS. They’ll also be able to catch up on any of the matches with highlights clips available on the SKY Sport Highlights app, available in both the android and ios app stores.

Prime will have delayed free-to-air coverage of all New Zealand Warriors matches.

The NRL Telstra Premiership 2019 season gets underway tonight as the Melbourne Storm host the Brisbane Broncos at AAMI Park LIVE on SKY Sport 2 from 9.00pm.

FRIDAY 15 MARCH

The Newcastle Knights take on Shaun Johnson’s Cronulla Sharks from 7.30pm on SKY Sport 2. Following that match, the Sydney Roosters open their title defence against arch rivals the South Sydney Rabbitohs on SKY Sport 2 from 9.55pm.

SATURDAY 16 MARCH

The New Zealand Warriors get their 25th season underway from Saturday 16 March when they host the Canterbury Bulldogs at Mount Smart Stadium. LIVE coverage begins on SKY Sport 2 from 4.30pm with kick-off at 5.00pm.

Super Saturday continues with the Wests Tigers taking on the Manly Sea Eagles at 7.30pm on SKY Sport 2 and the North Queensland Cowboys open their 2019 account facing the St George Illawarra Dragons at 9.30pm on SKY Sport 2.

SUNDAY 17 MARCH

The Penrith Panthers and Parramatta Eels get their respective seasons underway from 5.30pm on SKY Sport 2 with the Gold Coast Titans and Canberra Raiders rounding out the Round 1 action at 8.00pm also on SKY Sport 2.
