Cameron Hamilton Explains Why He and Lauren Skipped the Love Is Blind Season 6 Reunion

Cameron Hamilton, who found love and marriage with Lauren Speed-Hamilton on the very first season of Love Is Blind, has finally shared the reason he and his wife were absent from the show’s season six reunion. The couple’s notable absence left many fans curious, and now Cameron is shedding light on their decision.

Taking to Instagram on March 15, Cameron reassured fans that he and Lauren still hold the franchise close to their hearts. “Let me start by saying I really love the Love Is Blind franchise,” he said. “There’s absolutely no bad blood between us, the show, or Netflix. That’s how I met my wife, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”

He went on to explain that while they were invited to the reunion, they already had prior commitments. “We were invited to the season six reunion, but we respectfully declined. We were already booked on that date,” he said.

However, Cameron also admitted that there was more to their absence than just scheduling conflicts. “Honestly, I just wasn’t really into this season,” he confessed. “I didn’t see couples I could truly root for. I’ve supported the show for the last four years, but this season just didn’t draw me in.”

He elaborated further, explaining that every season of the show seems to feature a mix of people—some who genuinely want to get married, others chasing fame, and some who fall somewhere in between. “For me, as a viewer, I want to see people who are really connecting and seriously want to build a life together.”

Reflecting on season six, Cameron noted that it felt more focused on viral moments and internet drama than on meaningful connections. “This season felt like it was all about the memes, the one-liners, and the chaos,” he said. “The messiness kind of took over.”

Still, he doesn’t blame the contestants for how things played out. “The cast know what they’re getting into. They understand how the show works,” he acknowledged.

Season six did bring its fair share of on-screen drama, but only one couple—Amy Cortés and Johnny McIntyre—ended up tying the knot by the finale. Despite not watching the season closely, Cameron expressed gratitude for the role the show played in his life. “For Lauren and me, Love Is Blind was just the beginning of our journey,” he shared. “It’s been a blessing, and I truly appreciate the support we’ve received over the past four years. It means the world.”

Cameron and Lauren remain one of the most successful and beloved couples to come out of the series, but not all season six romances had the same fate.

Lauren O’Brien and David Bettenburg: A Short-Lived Connection

Things unraveled quickly for Lauren and David after they left the pods and travelled to Honduras. David revealed that the couple had mutual friends, which wasn’t an issue at first—until those friends informed him about Lauren’s romantic past with someone in their circle before the show. That revelation, combined with David’s unwillingness to introduce Lauren to his family and his sister’s clear disapproval, spelled the end of their relationship.

Monica Danús and Joey Leveille: Close, But Not Quite

Arguably one of the season’s most compatible pairs, Monica and Joey appeared to be on the path to marriage. However, during their wedding ceremony, Monica surprised many by saying, “I don’t right now.” Fighting back tears, she explained that while her feelings were genuine, they weren’t both fully ready to take that step. Joey echoed her thoughts, agreeing that while there was love, more personal growth was needed before they could fully commit.

As Love Is Blind continues to evolve, so too do the journeys of the couples who participate. While not every season delivers lasting love stories, fans can always count on Cameron and Lauren as a reminder of what the show is ultimately meant to be about.
